MAMBO News #4: Meta lets you pick age and gender for each ad creative, and what you build in Gemini is now a web page

What changed from October 18 to 20, 2026 and what to do with each: Meta lets each creative in an ad set carry its own age and gender, Gemini publishes its interactive apps to Google Sites in one click, Gemini in Sheets queries BigQuery with plain questions, and on October 28 Meta turns on product browsing in your ads unless you switch it off.

The most useful news of these two days came from Meta: since Monday, October 19, a single ad set can hold several creatives, each with its own age range and gender. For now it is only for people who build campaigns through the Marketing API. The same Monday, Google made it possible to publish to Google Sites, in one click, the interactive apps you build in Gemini. Below are the four updates with their source and a small test for each one.

This edition's window: From Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 8:00 to Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 8:00, Buenos Aires time. Sources checked on the morning of October 20, 2026. LinkedIn announced nothing in that window: the digital business cards seen over the weekend came from its October 15 announcement. Meta's October 28 notice predates the window and is included as a reminder because the deadline is next week.

  • Meta, 10/19: Age and gender per creative inside one ad set, through the Marketing API.
  • Gemini to Sites, 1 click: To turn an interactive Gemini app into a Google Sites draft.
  • Sheets and BigQuery, 15 days: Maximum time for Gemini querying BigQuery to show up.
  • Meta notice, 10/28: Day product browsing turns on in your ads unless you switch it off.

1. Meta: each creative with its own age and gender

On Monday, October 19, Meta published the "Choose an audience for each ad creative" option on its developer blog. With the toggle on, each creative inside one ad set carries the age range and gender it suits best. Meta's example: a financial company shows its retirement video to people aged 50 to 65 and its savings account video to all ages. It is an announcement, with no performance data. The conditions, according to the API reference: the ad set must stay open to both genders, with a minimum age between 18 and 25 and a maximum of 65, and it cannot be combined with Advantage+ audience. For now it lives in the Marketing API; Meta did not say whether it is coming to Ads Manager.

What to do: even if you do not see it yet, the groundwork is the same. If you sell to owners aged 50 to 65 and to managers aged 30 to 45, make one piece for each, built around their own problem, not the same piece with two photos. If your agency or tool builds campaigns through the API, ask whether they can turn it on in a test campaign.

2. Gemini: what you build in the chat is now a Google Sites page

On October 19, Google enabled exporting to Google Sites the interactive apps built inside the Gemini app. You open the app, choose Export and then Google Sites, and you get a private site draft that keeps working and can be edited, published and shared. It is available now on web, Android and iOS, for Workspace customers, Workspace Individual and personal Google accounts with Gemini access, as long as Sites is enabled.

What to do: ask Gemini for a simple quote calculator for your service, with three or four questions and a price range at the end. Export it to Sites, review it with someone on your team and send it to three trusted clients to see whether they understand it without explanation. It takes an afternoon and tells you whether it is worth bringing to your website.

3. Gemini in Google Sheets asks BigQuery

Also on October 19, Google started enabling Gemini in Sheets to analyze BigQuery data with plain questions, over the full dataset and not only what is visible in the sheet. If you describe a dashboard, it proposes a plan and builds a tab with pivot tables and charts that refresh. You need a sheet connected to BigQuery (Connected Sheets) and permission to query that data. It is in Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus and Google AI Pro and Ultra, and it can take up to 15 days to show up.

What to do: if your CRM or invoicing already sends data to BigQuery, ask Gemini for this month's sales by rep and compare it with the number in your report. If they match, you have a dashboard that does not depend on someone building it by hand. If you do not use BigQuery, this one is not for you yet, and it is fine to skip it.

4. Reminder: on October 28 Meta turns on product browsing in your ads

This one is not from the window, but the deadline is next week. Around October 14, Meta told advertisers that from October 28 it will turn on in-app product browsing in ads already running on Facebook and Instagram, unless you switch it off first. Someone who taps the ad may first see a Meta page with the product and suggestions, instead of going straight to your website. Meta says its test from August 6 to 21, with about 117,700 advertisers, delivered 3% more conversions on average. It is a figure measured by Meta, without a published methodology. You can switch it off with the button in the notice or ad by ad in the Advantage+ creative and destination settings.

What to do: if your ad sends people to a form or a page on your site where you track the contact, check the notice in Ads Manager this week and decide. A careful option is to leave it on in a single ad and off in the rest, and compare that ad's contacts against the others for two weeks.

What we would try this week

  • Ask Gemini for a quote calculator for your service with three or four questions and a price range.
  • Export it to Google Sites and review it with someone on your team before publishing it.
  • Send it to three trusted clients and write down what they ask; that is what your website is missing.

If you want to think through how to bring one of these tests to your sales team, write to us at [email protected] and let's talk.
