What happened in sales and AI this week: October 12 to 16, 2026, ChatGPT goes looking for your price and mass email stopped working

This week in sales and AI: Google Meet now drafts the follow-up email, ChatGPT searches containing "price" went from 6% to 8.9% in a month, Meta launched Muse Wonder and WhatsApp is testing scheduled messages. In prospecting, one line about the other company took our reply rate from 1.7% to 9.4%. With source, date and what to do with each topic.

The most important news of the week of October 12 to 16, 2026: ChatGPT increasingly goes to brand websites to look up prices (its English searches containing "price" went from 6% to 8.9% in one month, according to Ahrefs), and Google Meet now leaves the follow-up email written when you end the meeting. In prospecting, the data point was ours: the same email got a 1.7% reply rate sent identically to everyone and 9.4% with a single line about each person's company.

How this roundup was put together: It gathers the topics MAMBO published on its social channels between 10/12 and 10/16, including issue #3 of MAMBO News. Every data point has its source and date; sources were checked on 10/16/2026.

  • "Price" in ChatGPT, 8.9%: ChatGPT's internal English searches containing "price" in September. In August, 6%.
  • With one line, 9.4%: Reply rate of our email with one line about each company. Without it, 1.7%.
  • Steps in Meet, 2: When the meeting ends: a follow-up email draft and tasks in Google Tasks.
  • WhatsApp, 14 days: Maximum lead time to schedule a message in the Android beta.

Google Meet writes your follow-up (10/13, MAMBO News #3)

On 10/12, Google announced that the screen shown after a Meet call now offers two automatic steps powered by Gemini: a follow-up email draft in Gmail and action items exported to Google Tasks. It works when "Take notes for me" was on, and it is available on Workspace Business Standard and Plus and Enterprise Standard and Plus. Rollout started on 10/05 and may take more than 15 days to reach everyone.

What to do: turn on "Take notes for me" in your next client meeting, ask for the draft when it ends, edit it and send it within the hour. The draft saves time; the tone and what you promise are still yours.

ChatGPT goes looking for your price (10/13, MAMBO News #3)

Ahrefs analyzed 66.6 million ChatGPT answers from August and September 2026 and the internal searches it runs to write them. English searches containing "price" went from 6.0% to 8.9% in one month, and those containing "official" from 10.1% to 13.1%. When someone asks ChatGPT about a service, the assistant goes looking for what it costs and prefers the official source.

What to do: explain on your website how you quote, even if you do not publish a price list: starting from how much, what it depends on and what is included. If that information is not on your site, ChatGPT will look for it somewhere else.

Meta launched Muse Wonder, which asks before acting (10/13, MAMBO News #3)

On 10/12, Meta introduced Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full. They remember what matters across conversations and, when a task gets complicated, ask for clarification and check with the user before completing an important action. Today they are available to developers through the Meta Model API and Muse Code; they will soon reach the Muse app, subscribers first. No price was published.

What to do: if you are building an agent for your sales team, write down at which steps it must check with you before moving on: sending a proposal, changing a price, writing to a client.

WhatsApp is testing scheduled messages (10/13, MAMBO News #3)

According to WABetaInfo, on 10/12 WhatsApp started enabling scheduled messages in Android beta 2.26.40.7: text, links, photos and videos, from 10 minutes up to two weeks ahead, sent even if the phone is offline. For now only some testers have it and Meta has not announced it officially.

What to do: before scheduling anything, write down this week at what time your clients reply on WhatsApp. When the feature arrives, you will know when each message should go out.

Prospecting: mass email stopped working (10/14)

In September, MAMBO sent the same email to every contact in a campaign and 1.7% replied. The same text, with a single line about what each company does, written by us, reached 9.4%: five and a half times more for one line. Source: MAMBO's own Apollo campaign records, September 2026. Sending the same thing to hundreds of people is like using a megaphone in a public square: it reaches everyone and speaks to no one.

What to do: pick fewer people, chosen better, and write in the first line something specific about their company that would not fit anyone else. If you cannot, you have not looked closely enough yet.

AI: the week AI learned to take apps apart (10/15)

REA, an open tool that connects agents such as Claude Code and Codex to decompilers, went from fewer than 10,000 to more than 100,000 GitHub stars in six days, and free Photoshop-style programs written with AI appeared. What an app shows can now be described and rebuilt; the cases, how it works and the legal risks are in the full article.

What I would do on Monday

  • Write on one page of your website how you quote: starting from how much, what it depends on and what is included.
  • For your five best prospects, add one line about their company before the question.
  • Turn on "Take notes for me" in Meet and send the follow-up of your next meeting within the hour.

Frequently asked questions

Does Google Meet write the follow-up email by itself?

Yes, since October 2026. When the meeting ends, Meet offers, with Gemini, a follow-up email draft in Gmail and the export of action items to Google Tasks. It requires "Take notes for me" to be on and Workspace Business Standard or higher; rollout started on 10/05/2026.

Does ChatGPT look up prices on company websites?

More and more. According to Ahrefs (10/12/2026), ChatGPT's internal English searches containing "price" went from 6.0% in August to 8.9% in September 2026, and those looking for the "official" source from 10.1% to 13.1%.

At MAMBO we prospect every day and write each first message by looking at the person's company. If you want to review who you are writing to and what you say, let's talk with one of your real accounts.
